Wiring help needed

well i still have a distributer (sp) cap, the ingine that is in it is no the original, i dont know where to look for numbers to tell me what year it is. that will prolly make a differance to any help i can get. thanks in advance for any.

Are we talking a 4.0L FI or is it a 258 Carbed?

4.0 i know its the old one with the radiator rez up in the back left but thats about all i can disribe, it will prolly be at the meeting later today

sorry it took me a while to get back to you on this....been busy. I looked in my book tonight, and the 4.0 and 2.5 fuel injected engines are not supposed to have timing changed by turning the distributor. The ECU is supposed to automaticly set timing. Better look elsewhere. What are the symptoms you are having?
