i heard you can do this with a trans out of a 3/4 ton pickup but i was wondering what years ford have the 6. to 1 first gear i want to start looking for a trans and i dont want the 4 to 1 trans or the wrong one is their one out there that you dont need a kit for or is that the only way how did you do it

Most all Ford 2wd T-18 are the 6:1 version. Most Ford T-19 4wd and many Jeep T-18 '70 through '76 are 4:1.

Mine came from a '79 CJ7. It has the 6.32:1 1st gear.

"All Jeep CJ's from 1977 to 1979 had wide-ratio T18 with the 6.32:1 first gear."

Mine came out of a full size Jeep and had to have the shorter shaft put in it. I used the kit from http://www.partsmike.com/. I also had to put on a body lift to get it to fit.
