  • Clutch Fan or Electric Fan For a TJ

I think my clutch fan is going out. The engine heats up while sitting at idle for a little bit once warm. I have been looking at flex a lite setups. Is it worth upgrading to?

Don't spend the money of a flex a lite. Just grab a fan from a Ford Taurus and wire it in. Search google and you'll find all the info you could ever want. The electric fan does make a difference. I think it's worth it.

It may have just my luck, but I couldn't my engine cool with an electric fan, I tried all sorts of things and still had over heating on the highway at highway speeds. I crunched numbers on fan efficient, amp draws, surface areas. I made my own fan shrouds to adjust the depth of the fan, put one way flaps to increase airflow at speed. Put a flexalite in, my overheating issues at speed disappeared. I had great luck with mechanical fans.
