  • Best shop to rebuild a rear end?

The rear end on my son's '97 ZJ is dying. I don't know any of the specialty shops that do rear end rebuilds - any recommendations? It's beyond our technical ability at this time.

It's not a bad road filled with potholes and broken pavement, it's just Jeep-friendly.

There is a local place to Independence that has installed 3 ring and pinions and 3 lockers for me, Maywood Transmission. I have never had an issue with any of their work!

If thats not gonna work, I would take it out to 4x4Land, always had good service!

4x4 land just did my rear axle -- top notch service, great price, and turnaround was under 3 days.

4x4 land put the spool in my rearend after I blew up the 3rd locker. Quick work for a fair price, and have had zero issues with it since (other than having to make 97-point turns sometimes, but that ain't the shop's fault... that's my fault for running a full spool! LOL)
