  • 4.0l engines and swaps

I just got a 00 Cherokee that needs an engine. Mike @ 4x4 Land has some used engines but the newest one is 96. So my question is can I swap a 96 engine in my 00 without any major problems. The 00 has the coil pack.

I think the short blocks are diff. If you swap you prob have to swap harness also.

The head will not work, as it does not have the standoffs to mount the coil to.

As far as I know the short block should work. I am not saying 100% it will work. I am pretty sure it will though.

Check the motor mount bosses and accessory placement......that's the biggest issue.
