Thinking of getting a low powered linear.... around 50 or perhaps 100 watts ! ..... anyone have a choice ? ..... or opinion ? ........ eric ?

Amp ! We called them linears back in day ! .... CBs transmit at 4 whatts. Linear can bump that up , like 50 or 100 whatts or more ! , depending on linear ! And yes, they had em over 1,000 whatts back then ( over road truckers ) , but 50 would suit me just fine nowadays for trails ! :)I may be Rad and I may be Bad :pbj: but I am never SAD ! :kilt:

They are illegal; the FCC has prohibited the sale of linear amplifiers in the 24-35 MHz band back in the 1970's. They amended it to the 26-28 MHz band in late 2006, but it's still illegal unless you're a Ham using the 10m bands, not a CB.
