A good trail leader should:
1. Know the capabilities of those being led & weigh that against the
difficulty of the trails to be run.
2. Either serve as a spotter or insure that a qualified person(s) does.
3. Assign a qualified tail gunner.
4. Explain basic rules and good practices.
5. Promote safety.
6. Communicate with the group during the run via CB.
7. Teach those who have a desire to learn while quietly tolerating
those who do not.
8. Place the welfare and enjoyment of the group above personal
preferences.
Safety:
1. CB radio - yes or no?
2. Winches - yes or no?
3. Lift - how much?
4. Wheeling experience-years?
5. Who is new to jeeping?
6. Type of tires and sizes - AT vs MT?
7. Discussing discos and air down?
8. Talk about lunch - on trail or staging area?
