Warn M8000 Synthetic conversion

So, so the Warn M8000 is sold with an option for Synthetic line (The M8000-S), and I can find no other meaningful difference between the models - Does this mean there should be nothing to worry about with the conversion from wire to rope? I know on some winches, drum heat can reach a temperature that causes the line to weaken. But I would assume the M8000 does not have this issue? I suppose for safety I can always make sure I get aheat guard for the rope...
