  • Deegan 38; yes or no?

    Greetings everyone,

I am looking to upgrade my Duratrac 33x12.5 with like type Deegan 38 by Mickey Thompson. The brand its cheaper than new duratrac's but has a similar pattern. Has anyone seen how effective / not effective these tires are?

    Thanks.

I'm not sure on how they compare pricewise, but the Goodyear MTRs are a great all around tire.

MTRs will be >> $ than Duratracs. The Duratrac has a nice aggressive tread... but the MTR's have kevlar sidewalls to resist cuts and punctures.... they're super nice tires though.

You might also consider looking at the Toyo Open Country MTs, similar in the pattern and price range ... alot of people in the KC area are running those on their JKs and really seem to like them.

The Kevlar sidewalls have saved me several times, i am sure I would have had to replace a tire or 2 by now, if they weren't so strong!
