    I'm thinking of putting air suspension under my 88 YJ anyone have thoughts ??

    There are probably kits out there for such a thing, but expect to have lots of cost associated.

    Leafs are not only a spring but also an axle locator. To lessen the spring by removing all but the main leaf really puts the main leaf as the function to locate the axle. Otherwise, expect a lot of budget to setup links, track bars, along with the air bag mounts.

    If your intention is to smooth out the ride, many have done so through a front reverse shackle kit. It puts the rigid frame mount in front of the axle and the shackle behind, as like the rear axle. But again, it comes down to personal preference of ride. Shortwheel base doesn't help either. Not does running full recommended air pressure in the tires, the over tightening of the leafs spring eye bolts, shackle bolts....
